More Patience

I always want to believe that this time of year brings out the best in us. More people seem to donate their time and money to help those in need. Tonight, I went to help wrap presents for children who may not have a Christmas without the help of others. This is the third year that I have done this and tonight I was too late. There were so many people volunteering that all the presents had been wrapped. It warms my heart to know that this many people care about the others in our community.

However, I think we should take this compassionate spirit a little farther. Why does it seem so hard for people to be considerate and patient in our everyday lives? (Myself included) When people stand in a line that may not be moving fast enough they roll their eyes and sigh. People get upset at the customer that picked up an item without a price or bar code that won’t scan or they get mad at a cashier that just can’t scan the items fast enough.

Even though I see the season bringing out the best in us, I also see it bringing out the worst. I saw a post today that said we should go 24 hours without complaining. Then watch how our lives start to change.

This is going to take a lot of patience on my part but I am willing to go 24 hours without complaint. It may be will be hard but I am up for the challenge. What about you?

Be inspired,

Dena
