Summer Dreams

I have been enjoying the spring weather here in central Oklahoma. It has been really cool (some may say down right cold) in the morning and comfortable in the afternoon. I wear a jacket to work and then in the afternoon I leave it in the car. In the morning, I go looking for my jacket and it is still in the car. One would think that one day I may actually remember and bring my jacket in after work but I never seem to remember.

With the nicer weather and a little spring cleaning, I start dreaming about decorating the house for summer. I have started adding beach décor here and there around the house and I am ready to start making a few things to add to my collection. Browsing through Pinterest, I have found some exciting projects that I would love to make.

This is such a fun summer mantel with a sailboat from Remodelando La Casa. And she even has a step by step tutorial to show you how to make your own.

So it looks like I have my work cut out for me if I plan to get any of this made by the start of summer. How about you? Do you have a list of projects from Pinterest that you would like to make?

A Crafter’s Wishlist

I hope your Tuesday was a great one. We are one more day closer to Christmas and I have been busy making some gifts. Sometimes when I am crafting, I think about craft tools that would make crafting easier and other products that would be fun to use. I even have a board on Pinterest of products that I would love to have (this makes shopping easier for the hubs).

Today, I am sharing a few things that I have been dreaming about.

ImageI would love to try Phoomph for fabric.

phoomphsoft200Phoomph by Coats and Clark is a fabric bonding sheet. The great part is there is no ironing required, just press the fabric into place with your hands. Phoomph also comes in eight colors to match your fabric.

Seam-Fix would be a great stocking stuffer.

Seam-Fix is a seam ripper. What puts this on my wish list is the special plastic end of the seam ripper that grabs the broken threads and pulls them out of the fabric. It is never fun to rip out stitches but Seam-Fix would make it a lot easier. No more picking out thread with my fingers!

My fingers would also appreciate the Hot Glue Gun Helpers by Plaid.

The Hot Glue Gun Helper has a mat so that the hot glue does not make a mess on the table. And to help avoid finger burns there are finger caps and a press wand.

What would you like to see under your Christmas tree?

Leaf Rake Up

It’s fall ya’ll ! Well ok, not until September 22. It is my favorite time of the year for several reasons. First, it is football season. I really enjoy sitting at home on a Saturday and watching college football, specifically Oklahoma State. I also love the cooler weather. I enjoy a nice cool morning when I have to put on a sweater or jacket to go to work. But what I love most about fall is the colors! I love the colors of the changing leaves. The deep dark oranges, reds, and golds are just so beautiful.

However, with fall comes the daunting task of raking leaves. Which leads to allergies with the running eyes and sneezing. Who wants that? So I have decided to rake up some lovely leaf projects to keep myself busy and maybe my husband will rake the leaves.

I have raked up five projects with a leaf theme that I think you will enjoy. Remember if you are Pinning please go to the link for each project and Pin from the original source.

I love the saying on this pillow! The felt leaves are just adorable.
This project from I Heart Nap Time is simple and cute. I can’t wait to make one.
Mixing the paints for this faux stained glass window looks like so much fun.
These fake leaves painted gold look great in these frames. But think of the possibilities. They could dress up a table-scape or a centerpiece.
Yummy! Decorate sugar cookies and eat!

I hope these links have inspired you as much as they did me. I hope to be sharing some of my big leaf ideas soon so come back and see me. You can also follow me on Pinterest
Happy Fall,

Grandparents Day

Since I have my first grandchild, Grandparent’s Day means the world to me. I am looking forward to spending the day with him. When he gets older I will be looking forward to cards and crafts he has made for my husband and me.

Grandparents Day is September 9, are you ready? If not, here are a few “pin”spirations I have found.

What grandparent doesn’t like pictures and this board from I {heart} Nap Time is the perfect way to display those photos.
At Under the Table and Dreaming, Stephanie made these adorable dough hand prints. These make great memories and years later your grand child can compare their hand sizes.
Life is sweet

A card is always special and Life is Sweet made this card even more special with a child’s hand print.

Have you already made a grandparent gift? Will you be making one this weekend?

Fun with Words

I have come across this great web site where words are used to form a cloud or image. The website is Tagxedo and the possibilities are endless.

Words can be taken from a blog, news article, or enter your own words to make it personal. Choose the image or cloud and colors for your image. Then you can save, print or share the image.

I have been thinking about Valentines day and these would make a cute gift. Just print and frame.

Make your own word cloud here.

Happy crafting,
